The journey to becoming a Reiki Master has been such a powerful one for me. It is a tool that has expanded my understanding of subtle energies, accelerated my connection to universal life-force energy, it has strengthened and developed my intuitive awareness and deepened my understanding of what it is to be a healer. I am ecstatic to be able to offer Reiki to my clients.
What is Reiki?
Reiki (say “Ray-Key”) is a holistic, light touch, energy based healing modality that promotes normal energy flow in the body and restores physical and emotional well-being. Reiki is a gentle and simple way of relieving stress, promoting deep calm, enhancing self healing and balancing the body’s “ki” or energy. Reiki is written in two Japanese kanji (characters). The top kanji is “Rei” and it means spiritual, sacred or divine. The bottom kanji is “ki” which means energy or life force. To receive Reiki is to receive spiritual or sacred energy.
What does a Reiki session look like?
Reiki session typically last from 75 to 90 minutes. The client lays fully clothed on the treatment table to receive the energy. Before we begin we will have a brief conversation about how you are and the intentions you would like to work with. Immediately following the session there will be a 15 minute 1-on-1 verbal debriefing of the session to discuss what came up for each person (the client and the practitioner).
Clients profess a wide rage of experiences and it is highly recommended that clients demonstrate patience and detach from desired outcomes or expectations of the Reiki experience.
Examples of Reiki client experiences include:
- Complete relaxation and/ or sleep
- Feelings of weightlessness or flying
- Release of discomfort (or pain associated with an injury)
- Emotional releases of anger, fear, grief, sadness and self loathing
- Heightened clarity and awareness
- Increased energy, becoming more alert and engaged
- Having a sense of alignment with one’s higher self and/or higher purpose
Sessions are available for purchase in 1, 3 and 5 treatment packages.
What to do before your session:
Take a moment and set an intention for what you would like to receive. Some intend for healing, others for clarity or understanding, your intention is entirely up to you. Drink lots of water before and after your session. Bring an open mind. The more open you are and detached from any outcomes, the more possibilities there are for your session.
What to do after your session:
Listen to your body and do whatever you need to do. Drink lots of water. Your body may continue to release , if this happens then self care is important. Apply self care in what ever manner you are drawn to. Examples of self care include taking a bath, seeking some quiet time to reflect, journaling, spending time in nature or even some gentle movement. Take time to connect to your body and listen to what it needs.
How often can you receive Reiki?
As often as you like! If you are new to Reiki I suggest booking 3 sessions to begin with and have them over the course of 3 weeks to a month. You may find that your body goes through a detox after our first session and the second Reiki treatment will help to ease that. After the third, I recommend a Reiki session once every two weeks or even once a month, it’s entirely up to you.
What is the investment for a session?
Energy therapy sessions are an investment in yourself. Each individual session is $135. Payments can be made via email-transfer (preferable) to firstname.lastname@example.org with a separate email to the same address providing the password. I also accept cash.
It is best that the payment be taken care of before or at the beginning of the session, this is to make sure that there is no interruption during the session or the debriefing after.
Can I purchase more than 1 session at a time?
Of course! I offer Reiki sessions in 1, 3 and 5 session packages. As a gift to you I offer 5% off when purchasing 3 sessions and 10% when buying 5.
I can’t come in for a session, is there another way?
Absolutely! I offer distance Reiki. This is a great option for those outside of the city or unable to come in for an in person session. Read more about distance Reiki here.
